Elder Anthony Sease was a former member of Maranatha Church for approximately eighteen years.  He received his ministerial training under Elder James Smith who was the pastor at that time.  Elder Sease later became an associate pastor and the senior elder of Maranatha.  Elder Sease felt the unction of God to start a church of his own.  In response to the call, Elder Sease, along with his wife, Lady Patricia Sease, formed the Abundant Life Ministries, Church of God in Christ in April of 2005.

Pastor Rachel received most of her ministerial training under the leadership of her father, the late Bishop R.T. Jones, Sr., at Christian Tabernacle COGIC.  She also served in ministry with her husband, Elder A.B. Baxter, Jr., for 11 years before answering the call in July of 2006 to come to York to be the pastor of Maranatha Church of God in Christ effective Sunday, January 7, 2007.

In early 2008, Pastor Sease approached Pastor Rachel and told her that the Lord put in his spirit and he believed in his heart that Abundant Life and Maranatha should be together. The two pastors discussed the idea of merging for a few weeks and then the idea became dormant.  In mid-2011 the idea and the vision to merge the congregations rekindled.  Pastor Sease and Pastor Rachel continually met to discuss the details of the merge for approximately one year. On Sunday, May 27, 2012, the vision became a reality and thus New Covenant Community Church came into being.  Pastor Rachel and Pastor Sease serve as co-pastors.  NCCC, as we are called, is the first church in York to have a female and a male pastor to successfully merge their churches and serve in equal capacities.

We are better together, and it is our focus to reshape the future with vision and power.  We stand on the word of God which says, “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

We have housed the Katallasso Health Care Center, which is a Christian based health center for those who lack health care coverage. We also provided two True North Houses, which are living facilities for male returning citizens (ex-offenders). The men were taught how to take a new direction through job skills training, resume’ writing and assistance in finding employment. We also conducted a returning citizens’ (ex-offenders) support group which met every Tuesday from 1:30 – 3:00 and on Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:30PM.

Our building at 116 S. West Street has now become the Dominion Fellowship Headquarters and we continue to grow.  The birth of The Freedom City Connection Church located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, under the direction of Pastor Daquann Williams has come out of our Ministry, along with the appointment of an Assistant Pastor, Kim Montgomery Young and Pastor of Administration Pastor Oscar Rossum.
